From Diane Setterfield's The Thirteenth Tale

People disappear when they die. Their voices, their laughter, the warmth of their breath. Their flesh. Eventually their bones. All living mempry of them ceases. This is both dreadful and natural. Yet for some there is an exception to this annihilation. For in the books they write they continut to exist. We can rediscover them. Their humour, their tone of voice, their moods. Through the written word they can anger you or make you happy. They can comfort you. They can perplex you. They can alter you. All this, even though they are dead. Like flies in amber, like corpses frozen in ice, that which according to the laws of nature should pass away is, by the miracle of ink on paper, preserved. It is a kind of magic.

1. Pick 10 of your favorite movies.
2. Go to IMDb and find a quote from each movie.
3. Post them here for everyone to guess.
4. When someone guesses correctly, write the name of the movie.
5. NO Googling, using IMDb search, or other search functions.
6. No looking at my favorite movies on my Facebook page.
7. You don't have to be tagged to play

1. I was Flint's first mate that voyage, that's where we buried the treasure, gold and blood, they were Flint's trademarks, he'd leave both behind him that day.

2. As long as he has to go, please let him go no later than 9:20 - that dirty Herald has been getting all the breaks [phone rings] Yeah? What do you mean he isn't dead yet? Frank, I gotta have some action! This movie is a little obscure so here is quote #2: The trouble with being sick is you have to associate with doctors.

3. If you think that by giving cold fusion to the world and giving up unimaginable wealth you'll make us happy, you're right.

4. As a boy, I'm told, he had a chance encounter with a travelling magician. One version of the story was that the man himself vanished... along with the tree. People began to think he had some sort of special power... or at least that he was a bit different. And then he met her.

5. And what is that worth, the promise of a woman? You're very funny Highness.

6. King illegal forest to pig wild kill in it a is!

7. Would you qualify that as a launch problem or a design problem?Second Quote (again due to quote obscurity..): Mitch, there's something you need to know. Compared to you, most people have the IQ of a carrot.

8. You know, your mood swings are kinda giving me whiplash.

9. Where are you going to go? I don't know if you've looked in the mirror lately, but you kind of stick out in a crowd.

10. Why make her lie to you to save me?

# 3 is from The Saint. Love it. Own it.

Not sure, but is #4 from BIG FISH? Seems like it could fit.

I want to say #7 might be from Independence Day. Only seen it once though.

Hey Ruth, your right about the Saint... but not the others...

Here are some more quotes to help you out:
#7 You see Mitch, I used to be you. And lately I've been missing me so I asked Dr. Hathaway if I could room with me again and he said sure.

#4 i thought we might end this evening with a discussion of the soul. All of the greatest religions speak of the soul’s endurance before the end of life. So what then does it mean to die?

Hmm. The additional quotes still don't help. Thanks though! Glad I got one of them
