I just typed a whol big post and it got lost... now I'm frusterated and I'll post again but now right now.

I can't wait to come down and visit her this weekend... we have all sorts of fun planned... but I can only write about it after the fact. I don't know who reads this thing... :P

Saying Goodbye

Packing has become a brutal nightmare, so to relieve the stress I'm blogging a bit. Not that saying goodbye is any easier. I find a new stress pimple every morning now. And since we've said goodbye to someone every night recently I'm calling them my 'good-bye' pimples. So here's goodbye to:

To our neighbors (Sophia, Justin and Attie) who are just stinkin' awesome.

To the Fitch's (we'll have to get better pictures, cauze this was taken at 1 AM... and I don't think any of the girls had makeup on...) who are the MOST generous hosts EVER!

I'm honestly not sure if they could be any awesomeer.

To the Skembo gals (and Mike and Janika of course... we'll have to get a picture with them too) who have been our family when everyone else left.

To the girls from Girls Night who help me not lose my sanity. Or we are all losing it together... hmmm (notice three of us have babies with us, one left her's at home and someone is still cooking her little baby.... right, sanity, focus... we can keep it).

What we've been up to

My mom was in town for almost an entire week. It was AWESOME! I only have a few pictures and they were from my phone... but everyone should be back up to visit when we bless Jaedyn so I'll get better pictures then.Here are a pare of the baby booties she brought up. The blanket was made by her friend's mom and sisters.

We all went up to Frisco to say 'hi' to Scott's chiropractor and staff. While he was working Mom and I took a long walk down a trail that ended at this park. She was carrying the baby so I got to ride the big horse.

My good friend Tara had a rather traumatic experience this past week in which she was "given" the "opportunity" to work somewhere else in the company...
We found out that Lennar has NO part time benefits, so I get to work full time (which is rediculous because we'd have to pay for child care which is just WAY too expensive) or work part time and have no benefits (which is kinda the point of working...)
We will be moving to Washington late this spring or early this summer. (oh gotta remember to do that self realization thing that Jamies told me about...)
Windows came out with a new OS... now I get to backup my favorite files and stuff so I can try it out.
oh yeah... I should be doing that right now...

the e-mail I sent to my co-workers and friends... that did not go through to many of my friends...

Hi! I know there have been folks trying to get ahold of us to find out how things are going.

Here's the scoop: (I don't have a list of everyone's e-mail at work. Please share this e-mail with your department!)

We had a regular check-up scheduled for Tuesday (12/30) for an estimated birth weight and cervical check. The ultrasound went okay but the Dr. had a hard time getting a head measurement because she was sitting low.

When Dr. Maxey did the cervical check, we all discovered that I was dilated 4-5 cm (it took me a moment to understand this meant I was in labor...)

So I was admitted right away.

I was doing well, but after my water broke and I got drugged up (petosin and an epidural) Jaedyn's heart rate dropped after every contraction.

This slight complication gave us two options; we could wait and see what happened (and risk her health) or have a c-section (and know she is healthy). We opted for a healthy baby :)

Jaedyn Olivia was born at 8:05PM on January 30, 2008. She weighed in at 5 lbs and 3.3 oz and was 18.5 inches long. Tall and skinny; a true Quigley :) She is small but very healthy.

Everything / everyone is still doing well. We had the option of going home on the first, but I wanted to utilize the nursery and nursing staff, so we'll be going home Jan. 2, 2009.

I had a baby!

Jaedyn Olivia Quigley was born 12/30/2008 at 8:05 PM. She weighed 5.3 oz and was 18.5 inches long.

I won an award at work for being the Team Oriented Preformer... and family is coming into town this weekend. I'll post about it someday.

At the races... c'omon Dover!... c'omon Dover!!!

We went to the races for dollar days. Entry was a dollar, food was a dollar, hot chocolate was a dollar and even though we did not utilize them, beer and betting books were a dollar.

But the best part were the boots! Everywhere! The demographics of the crowd were like this: Mexicans were short and in matching boots and belts (some had matching hats) and were very serious about their bets. All other person's were drunk and loud. Unless they had kids with them, there was a large group of those people. The building was a smoking facility and it was stinky!

We found a friend among all the weirdness. There was another couple pregnant with their first baby. She didn't drink either, and we watched the races and wrinkled our noses at the stinky building and chatted. It was a very fun time.

I created these little "Thank-You" pots for the girls who threw me a shower. I have to say I felt like a genius for coming up with it and getting it done, on time. Plus now my windowsill is cleared of all these plant cuttings. I have more cuttings than pots, but now it's manageable. And they look pretty cute if I say so myself.

I had a great shower. I got some great gifts and got some sage advice and yummy food and had a really fun time. I'll have to get the pictures from Angela sometime so I can share them.

Happy Birthday to ME

My mom got me an awesome birthday and Christmas gift. A Dyson Vaccum!

She was not able to drive up, but she wired me the money and Scott and I bought the vacuum here. I was so excited because my birthday was on Black Friday this year. I looked up all the shops I could think of to see if they would have a big sale on the one we wanted. Sears was the only place that showed the DC25animal AND said they had it in stock at the mall.
We got up early, well early-ish, and drove out to Southlake to check Sharper Image. I had forgotten to check their website.

They were closed, are closed. They even had a 'for rent' sign in the window. So no sale there. While we were in Southlake we checked out Home Depot and Lowes. Both stores were not as busy as I thought they would be. They also both had Dyson's, but not the DC25 animal. So we went across the street to Kohl's. They were packed! The line wraped through the store half way around the back. It was difficult to even GET to the vacuums. Once again they only had 'other' Dysons.

We left Southlake and stopped by the Sear's Outlet, but they only had big appliances. Finally we went to the mall and found the DC25 animal right away. They even had a floor sample that I tried out for about 2 seconds before telling the sales man "I'm sold". Even though the store was crowded there was a register right next to the vacuums and we didn't even have to wait. Our sales guy rung us up and the vacuum was on sale so I had enough money in hand for it. Then I got another suprise.

Because we bought a Dyson, I also got a $50 gift card! Woo hoo!

When we got home, the missionaries were waiting at our place to say hi. We had a nice chat and when they left Scott got to work gettting the vacuum set up.

Then I started. The floor was disgusting, but hard to capture in a picture. However you can see the before and after on the couch.



And you can see after just vacumming the nursery, how much cat hair there is to clean up from our kitties.And you can see how well my new toy worked. We practically filled the trash can.
